Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are pushing the panel\u2019s Republicans to swiftly call a hearing with a Justice Department (DOJ) whistleblower who has accused President Trump’s judicial nominee Emil Bove of suggesting the DOJ defy court orders.<\/p>\n
Erez Reuveni, who was fired by the Justice Department shortly after he told a judge that detained migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia was deported in error, was present in a meeting in which he alleged Bove said the DOJ may need to tell the courts \u201cf\u2011\u2011\u2011 you\u201d<\/a> if judges sought to block deportations to a notorious Salvadoran prison.<\/p>\n Bove, a senior official in the deputy attorney general’s office, has since been nominated by Trump for a lifetime appointment<\/a> to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n
