After careful investigation, we discovered the root cause was an update to a code path upstream of the @grok bot. This is independent of the underlying language model that powers @grok.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After an update last week, Grok was producing responses where the chatbot made broad generalizations about individuals with Jewish surnames, authored some posts praising Adolf Hitler and spread antisemitic tropes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The official chatbot account said xAI was <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/technology\/5391838-musk-ai-chatbot-antisemitic-responses\/\">deleting<\/a> the antisemitic posts on Tuesday and had \u201ctaken action\u201d to ban \u201chate speech&#8221; from Grok.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe update was active for 16 hrs, in which deprecated code made @grok susceptible to existing X user posts; including when such posts contained extremist views,\u201d xAI wrote on Saturday. \u201cWe have removed that deprecated code and refactored the entire system to prevent further abuse.
