{"id":477,"date":"2025-04-28T14:37:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T14:37:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/logicalware.net\/?p=477"},"modified":"2025-04-29T19:45:51","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T19:45:51","slug":"more-americans-critical-of-musk-role-in-trump-administration-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/logicalware.net\/index.php\/2025\/04\/28\/more-americans-critical-of-musk-role-in-trump-administration-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"More Americans critical of Musk role in Trump administration: Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More Americans are now critical of tech billionaire Elon Musk\u2019s role in the Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1behUPOujHZSkw37RTdnt_2pCJESMDrglY_uYUeoWdvg\/edit?gid=0#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">administration than were<\/a> earlier this year, according to a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if they \u201capprove or disapprove of the way Elon Musk is handling his job in the Trump administration,\u201d 57 percent said they disapproved &#8220;somewhat&#8221; or &#8220;strongly.&#8221; That is an 8-point increase from a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1kdcXmy8B1zajwnb6KUbZ-KxUixlTPoTY3Bg_Bfld0h0\/edit?gid=0#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">February poll<\/a>&nbsp;that asked the same question.<\/p>\n<p>In the new poll, 9\u00a0percent had no opinion or did not answer the Musk question.<\/p>\n<p>The poll found 35 percent of respondents said they \u201capprove strongly\u201d or \u201capprove somewhat,&#8221; a 1-point increase in approval from the poll taken a month into the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>In the Washington Post-Ipsos\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1kdcXmy8B1zajwnb6KUbZ-KxUixlTPoTY3Bg_Bfld0h0\/edit?gid=0#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poll from<\/a>\u00a0February,\u00a049 percent\u00a0said they \u201cstrongly\u201d or \u201csomewhat\u201d were against the job Musk was doing, while 14 percent said they were \u201cnot sure\u201d and 2 percent had no opinion or did not answer the question.<\/p>\n<p>Musk revealed last week that he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/technology\/5266007-what-happens-to-doge-once-elon-musk-leaves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">would begin<\/a>\u00a0to spend less time on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) next month. DOGE\u2019s controversial slashing of large chunks of federal spending has struggled to maintain public support, with it also facing multiple lawsuits.\u00a0Musk&#8217;s Tesla company has also taken a significant hit on the stock market since the start of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the Trump administration have also reportedly had frustrations with Musk, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/tablet\/2025\/04\/25\/april-18-22-2025-washington-post-abc-news-ipsos-national-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was conducted<\/a>\u00a0April 18-22, featuring 2,464 people and a margin of error of 2 percentage points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More Americans are now critical of tech billionaire Elon Musk\u2019s role in the Trump\u00a0administration than were earlier this year, according to a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll.
